Read and note absolute angle (Figure 5).

Location of fixture and protractor on automatic transmission

All vehicles (except models 124.034/036. 129.06 07)

Attach protractor to the upper threaded bores of fixture 1, part no. 140 589 30 63 00 (arrows, Figure 6).

8.

Hold fixture (010a) against the front drive shaft (Figure 6). Read absolute angle and note value (example: 2°10', Figure 6).

IMPORTANT

The contact surfaces of the fixture (010a) must rest flat against the drive shaft without contacting any of the drive shaft balance weights.

Attach protractor to the lower threaded bores (arrows. Figure 7) of fixture 1 part no. 140 589 30 63 00. Read absolute angle and note values.
