B Spare part closing cover

NOTE:  A closing cover with higher opening pressure is installed since June 1983. The pressure amounts to 1.2 ± 0.1 bar (previously 1.0 +0.15 bar
-0.1 bar). The modified closing cover carries the code number 120 (previously 100).

This closing cover with higher opening pressure guarantees a minimum of 1 bar gauge pressure in cooling system also on older vehicles. As a result,
increased protection against ejection of coolant is obtained.

The spare part closing cover differs from standard closing cover by a resilient sealing washer (rigid on standard closing cover), as well as by an
additional rubber sealing ring. The spare part closing cover is also identified by a blue dot on its top.

Checking pressure relief valve

Attach double connection on tester for cooling system by means of holders.

Place expansion tank closing cover on double connection.

Check by pumping opening pressure.

 
Checking vacuum valve
