Air Bag Voltage Stabilizer: Description and Operation

Design:

The voltage transformer (N24), used until 9/87, is located in a separate housing and is connected with the airbag cable harness by means of a plug
connection.  As of 9/87 the function of the voltage transformer source is performed by the SRS control unit.

Method of Operation:

The function of the voltage transformer is to supply the control unit and reserve power source with a constant voltage of 12 ± 1 volts even in the event
of low battery voltage (equal to or more than 4.0 volts).
