Valve Guide: Testing and Inspection
Checking valve guides
Preceding work:

Cylinder head removed. See: Service and Repair

Valves removed.

Check inlet and exhaust valve guides (54) and (56) in longitudinal and transverse direction with go/no go drift (4). Check whether no go end (5)
can be inserted over its entire height (5 mm).
Go/No go drift 0 8 mm 102 589 90 23 90 for inlet valve guide
Go/No go drift 0 9 mm 117 589 93 23 90 for exhaust valve guide

Replace valve guide if go/no go drift (5) can be inserted over its entire height. See: Service and Repair

Check seat (arrows) of valve stem seal at valve guides.

Replace valve guide if seat worn (arrows) See: Service and Repair
