Modified Drag link, Pitman Arm and Intermediate Steering Arm Mode1 124 (except 4-Matic)
As of June 1989 production, a 10 mm shorter drag link is installed in production (Figure 1). The tightening torque for the nuts M12 x 1.5 is increased to
50 Nm. At the same time the location of the steering damper mounting on the body was moved to the left side of the vehicle.

Repair Instructions
To prevent a mixup of the different versions, the bores for the drag link in the Pitman arm and the intermediate steering arm as well as the ball pins of the
drag link are increased from 14 to 16 mm diameter. The track differential angle changes as a result of the shorter drag link.
