Remedy:
Apply a dab of sealing compound 001 989 61 20 10 (Dirko grey) in the left and right corner (arrows) of the groove in the timing chain cover (groove
must be cleaned and degreased). Install new contoured gasket (25) p/n 103 015 02 20, without sealant, into groove and press gasket towards cylinder
head. Apply sealing compound 002 989 00 20 10 onto the cylinder head mating surface of the cylinder head front cover. Install front cover using guide
sleeve 103 589 00 14 00 and tighten both bottom screws first to 21 Nm.

Note:

Prior to 04/88, a graphite composite gasket (color: graphite grey) was being supplied. In cases of repair, only the non-graphite gasket (color: black) is
to be used (p/n unchanged).
