A.
Modified Evaporator Temperature Regulator (ETR) Switch Models 107 and 126 with ACC
Since September 1984 production, a modified evaporator temperature regulator (ETR) switch is installed.
The previous ETR switch should be replaced in case of the evaporator freezing up or the following:
-
the electromagnetic clutch (A/C compressor) cycles repeatedly and in quick succession when the cut-out temperature is reached or
-
the electromagnetic clutch surfaces are burned out.
If the electromagnetic clutch burns out, the compressor, the receiver-drier and the expansion valve must be replaced.
When replacing a seized or hard-turning A/C compressor, the refrigerant lines on the compressor must also be replaced as described in S.I. 83/36b.
Fill system with the modified capacity charge of R12 refrigerant, regardless of the radiator support decal listing or model year.
