Check for proper installation of standard heat shield (1). The open portion of the shield (arrow) should point towards the engine (Figure 6).

Note:

If the opening of the shield points towards the fender, perform steps 5 - 10; If the opening of the shield points toward the engine, perform steps 8 and
9.

Disconnect ignition cable from ignition coils (T1/1 and T1/2).

Disconnect and remove auxiliary fan preresistor along with heat shield.

7.

Reinstall preresistor and standard heat shield in correct position (opening towards engine).

8.

Fasten larger heat shield over standard heat shield to upper fastening point of preresistor.

9.

Reinstall ATA horn and bracket. Ensure correct installation position.

10.

Reconnect ignition cables.

11.

Install new fused wiring harness (subject C).
