Raise vehicle on hoist.

Remove rear engine compartment lower encapsulation panel (Figure 2).

Compress and remove front springs, using spring compressor 000 589 46 31 00 together with spring compressor plates 140 589 07 63 00.

Remove nut and eccentric bolt (20 and 20b, Figure 3). Remove nut (19b, Figure 3) and slide eccentric bolt (19, Figure 3) as far forward as
possible. Pull the lower control arm down from the front axle cross member rear bracket and wedge lower control arm down with a suitable block
(013, Figure 5, next page). During reassembly obtain new eccentric bolt nuts (19b and 20b, Figure 3). Tightening torque: 150 N-m.

Drive the aluminum end washer from the rear rubber bushing with a suitable tool (Figure 4).
