Headliner: Service and Repair

Preliminary work:

Headliner on sliding roof removed. See: Roof and Associated Components/Sunroof / Moonroof/Sunroof / Moonroof Interior Trim Panel/Service and
Repair 
Panelling on rear pillar removed. See: Trim Panel/Service and Repair 
Reveal molding on side of windshield removed. See: Trim Panel/Service and Repair 
Left and right sun visors removed
Inside mirror removed
Roof control unit removed

Windows in doors and rear side windows

open.

Retaining plate for inside mirror on front of roof frame

screw off (3 screws) and remove retaining plate.

Retaining bar (1) at front of tilting/sliding roof cutout

pull up and out and remove.

Headliner (2) at rear of roof frame flange

unhook, start at one corner of headliner.

Clips (3 each)

press outward with screwdriver through openings on sliding roof frame (arrows) and lower headliner.

Headliner (2)

guide toward front while unhooking from tilting/sliding roof frame (insert profile).

Contact plate for sun visor mount

remove on left and right of headliner.
