Power Interrupt Connector/Switch: Description and Operation

Vehicles shipped overseas from a German North Sea port are equipped with a battery disconnection switch in the trunk on the negative terminal of the 
battery as of approx. 06/93. This battery disconnection switch interrupts the connection to ground preventing quiescent current loads from discharging
the battery during transport or longer periods of inoperation.

NOTE:  Do not switch battery disconnection switch to "Off" position with engine running.  Interruption of the circuit with the engine running can lead to
extensive damage to the vehicle electrical system.
Such damage is not covered by the warranty and will be not be honored as a guarantee claim under any circumstances.

Before interrupting the circuit with the battery disconnection switch, lock vehicle manually or with infrared remote control with trunk lid open. Retract
the trunk lid grip by actuating the switch on the trunk lock.

NOTE:  The pin in the trunk lid auxiliary lock should not be extended, if necessary repeat locking procedure.
