Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair
Rear Cable

Removal and installation of rear brake cable control 

Preliminary job:

Remove parking brake shoes.   See: Parking Brake Shoe/Service and Repair

 
Summary

-

Screw brake control cable (86) off of wheel carrier and remove.

-

Unhook return spring (94) from mount (14), and turn back adjustment screw (89) on adjustment bracket.

-

Unhook intermediate lever (91) at bearing on frame floor and remove from adjustment bracket (1).

-

Unhook brake control cable (86) from compensation lever (7).

-

Remove spring clip (84). Pull control cable out of mount (14) toward rear and through rubber sleeve in semitrailing arm.
