Wheel Bearing: Adjustments

1.

Raise and support vehicle.

2.

Remove front wheel(s).

3.

Using suitable bolts, secure brake disc to wheel hub assembly.

4.

Force brake pads away from brake disc.

5.

Remove hub cap.

6.

Remove radio interference suppression contact spring.

7.

Release internal bolt of clamping nut, and tighten clamping nut while simultaneously turning the hub until hub can only just be turned. Loosen
clamping nut approximately 1/3 turn and relieve tension by striking stub axle with a plastic mallet.

8.

Position a suitable dial indicator onto front hub assembly.

9.

Check endplay by pulling and pushing on the flange. Turn wheel hub several times before each measurement. Endplay obtained should be
.00039-.00078 inch (.01-.02 mm).
