Suspension Mode Switch: Testing and Inspection

Adjusting Switch Test

126 Series

    This test should be performed if the automatic level control system does not respond properly to changes in control switch position. Pressure tester kit
No. 126589022100 is required for performing this test.

1.

Move instrument panel selector switch to ``N'' position.

2.

Start engine and run at approximately 2500 RPM. Ensure system warning lamp on instrument panel goes out within 20 seconds.

3.

Move selector switch to ``S'' position and ensure warning lamp illuminates.

4.

Move selector switch to ``H'' position. Warning lamp should remain lit and vehicle height should increase approximately 1.4 inches (35 mm).

5.

Move selector switch to ``N'' position and ensure warning lamp goes out and vehicle returns to normal level.

6.

If system does not respond as indicated, replace adjusting switch.
