Trailing Arm: Service and Repair
Remove/Install Coupled Semi-Trailing Arm, Replace Bushings

REMOVE/INSTALL COUPLED SEMI-TRAILING ARM, REPLACE BUSHINGS 

Preceding work:

Remove and refit wheels.
Removal and installation of complete rear axle.  See: Service and Repair

Diagonal swing axle with starting torque compensation

 
Lubricant for pressing on rubber bearings

Lubricant (naphthalene or slide paste Fahr) 000 989 08 60

Special tools

 
 
Removal and installation

1. Lower coupled semi-trailing arm down to deflection stop.

2. Detach hexagon bolt (79) with spacing sleeve (79b) and tensioning washer (79a) for attaching the rear axle shaft and remove.

Note:  Assemble hexagon bolt (79) with tensioning washer (79a) and spacing sleeve (79b) and tighten to 30 Nm. Torque wrench 001 589 66 21
