Additional Restrictor Orifice Installation, Transmission 722.4

In case of complaints about quick and hard reverse gear engagement, an additional orifice can be installed in the supply passage to the reverse gear
piston.

This modification can be performed on vehicles with transmission end numbers below 070 826.

Procedure (Valve body removed)

1.

Remove lower cover (Service Microfiche, Automatic transmission 722.4, Job No. 430).

2.

Insert additional restrictor orifice (arrow) in supply passage as shown (Figure 3).

3.

Install valve body and lower cover.
