Seat Belt: Service and Repair
Front Seat Belt with Tensioner (ETR), Removal and Installation
Preceding Work:

The rear body trim must be removed.

Driver's or passenger's seat must be removed for removal of belt lock (7).
Removal:
-
Turn ignition key to position "0".
-
Disconnect and insulate negative battery terminal.
-
If airbag fitted: Disconnect red 10-pin plug in front passenger's footwell.

Disconnect belt tensioner ignition pellet plug-connector (1).
-
Remove screw (2) in belt guide fitting. During installation torque to 35 Nm.

Remove belt guide fitting (8).
-
Open trim (3) on pivot fitting with plastic wedge (arrowed).
Observe installation directions.

Remove screw (4) in side rail. During installation torque to 35 Nm.

Remove screw (5) in inertia reel. During installation torque to 35 Nm.

Remove belt tensioner. Observe installation directions.
-
Pull trim on passive anchorage fitting back and to the side, and remove.
-
Remove screw (6) in belt lock.
-
Release cable ties under seat cushion.
-
Remove belt lock, with lead (7).
Install in reverse order.
Installation Directions:
When installing belt tensioners, pay attention to alternative configurations (left and right) and take care to ensure correct seating in locking device.
1. When installing a new belt tensioner, release the trim on the pivot fitting with a plastic wedge. Install screw in side rail (35 Nm), resecure trim on
pivot fitting and remove safety device from locking spring on pivot fitting.
