Ignition Rotor: Description and Operation
Distributor Rotor (13)
The resistor rotor (13) is mounted on the distributor shaft which rotates at the rpm of the camshaft. The distributor (17), cap (15), and rotor are aligned
so that when an ignition impulse is generated by the coil, the rotor points to the appropriate terminal of the distributor cap. The ignition energy is then
directed to the correct cylinder through the ignition wires. A 1 kOhm resistor is molded into the rotor for radio frequency suppression.
