Clean painted adhesive surfaces on body flange with cleaner from repair kit and rub dry with clean, lent-free rag.

Cut glue residues off of body flange with cutting blade (124 589 21 63 00).
NOTE: On model 170, rear window with Vario roof, use cutting blade (202 589 17 63 00).

If glue residues on body flange are damaged or missing, apply primer in gluing area with felt brush.

Coat damaged spots in paint on body flange, which will not be covered by glue, with primer.

If more than 24 hours have elapsed since cutting through the glue bead, it is also necessary to apply primer to the glue residue on the body flange.
NOTE: To avoid poor adhesion when installing windows ensure that gluing surfaces on body flange are free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other
anti-adhesive substances or dirt residues.
NOTE: Do not leave more than 1 mm. Pull off loose glue (residues not completely cut off).
NOTE: Allow primer to air-dry for at least 5 minutes.
Replace Rubber Windshield Spacers

Replace rubber windshield spacer (arrow) at top.
NOTE: Remove protective foil only after centering windshield.

Replace bottom rubber windshield spacers (arrows).
NOTE: Remove protective foil only after centering windshield.

Replace tricot strip (1) on A-pillar if damaged.
NOTE: Sedans only.
