Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
Replacing Rear Crankshaft Radial Seal
1.1 Remove manual transmission
1.2 Remove automatic transmission

Remove clutch

Manual transmission

Remove flywheel, two-mass flywheel or driven plate

Check for oil leaks

If leaks exist at end cover, Remove end cover

If the cause of the oil leak cannot be clearly determined, Check rear of engine for external oil leak, and determine cause.

Use a screwdriver to prise out radial seal (21)
CAUTION: Do not damage crankshaft and mounting hole for radial seal ring, use a clean cloth as a base.
NOTE:

Installation: For all vulcanized radial seal rings in repair case: install new radial seal ring (21) into new cover by pressing in at rear.

Installation: Install rear crankshaft radial seal

Install in reverse order.
NOTE:

Before installing transmission, inspect for oil leaks

Check rear of engine for external oil leak, determine.
