SUBJECT:
All Model 129, 140, 202, 208 an 210 Vehicles

Equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) (CODE 472a)

ESP Indicator Lamp Illuminated / Fault code C1142

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the ESP indicator lamp is illuminated with fault code C1142 (lateral acceleration
sensor) and that this condition followed any of the below 

reported driving conditions, the fault code can be erased / ignored.

Note:

Do not submit warranty claims as there is not a manufacturing defect / failure.

Driving on high-bank curves.

Rear end collision.

^

Vehicle spins on a slippery road.

If none of the preceding situations occurred, process the fault code by following the diagnostic procedure contained within Star Diagnosis.
