Maintenance Required Lamp/Indicator: Description and Operation
GF00.20-P-2009B Engine Oil Monitor Function
GF00.20-P-2009B Engine Oil Monitor Function
General
In view of the fact that the oil level indicator switch (S43) is used in this system for detecting the engine oil level, it is only possible to provide a
minimum warning.
Engine oil minimum display
If the oil level drops below the permissible minimum, the oil level warning lamp (A1e12) comes on or the oil can symbol and the readout "OIL LEVEL
MIN" appear (only the oil can symbol on models not fitted with multifunction display). The display appears 60 s after engine start once an oil
temperature of 60 degrees C has been reached. It is only possible to acknowledge the display on the instrument cluster fitted with multifunction display.
Oil change
ASSYST has to be reset each time the oil is changed.
ASSYST can be reset using the instrument cluster or with the HHT. The following data are stored when the system is reset:
-
current kilometer reading rounded off to 100,
-
(total of oil replenishments detected is 0, no oil sensor!)
-
remaining distance,
-
remaining time,
-
product of the quality factors,
-
the data of the last 5 resettings in 5 data sets
It is only possible to read the data with the HHT!
