The engine control module actuates the primary winding of the twin spark ignition coils at circuit 1 with ground. The primary current flow is interrupted
at the moment of the ignition timing point.As a result of the sudden collapse of the magnetic field in the primary winding the ignition voltage is generated
as a result of a steep rise in the voltage in the primary winding and secondary winding.
In this case, the ignition voltage is distributed by an ignition coil in such a way that one spark plug ignites in the power stroke of the cylinder while the
other spark plug ignites in the exhaust stroke of the cylinder which is offset by 360°. The ignition spark in the exhaust stroke requires only a low amount
of energy so that all of the energy is practically available for the ignition spark in the power stroke.
