Unscrew upper and lower bolt (25a, 25b) of steering coupling (25)

NOTE:  Turn steering coupling (25) to appropriate position to do this.

Turn steering wheel to central position (front wheels in straight ahead position) and secure with holding device

CAUTION:  With a disengaged steering coupling (25) the steering wheel should not be turned because the clock spring contact will be
destroyed.

Pull the lower steering shaft (80a) upward to extract it from the steering coupling (25)

CAUTION:  Do not use force (hammer blows, excessive leverage) as the lower steering shaft (80a) is sensitive to lateral forces.

Carefully pull steering coupling (25) out of control valve of rack-and-pinion steering (22) (predetermined breaking point on control valve)

CAUTION:  Do not use force (hammer impact, strong lever action)

NOTE:  Installation:  Turn rack-and-pinion steering (23) to center position, mount steering coupling (25)

Install in the reverse order
