AN31.19-P-8100-06P Perform Function Test Of Lighting Signals At The Trailer Hitch Socket

Check the function of the lighting signals at the 13-pin trailer hitch socket (X58) using a lighting bar (1), for example.

1. Switch on left direction indicator lamp.
2. Switch on right direction indicator lamp.
3. Switch on hazard warning system.
4. Switch on standing lamp.
5. Switch on backup lamps.
6. Press brake pedal and check that stop lamps function.
7. Switch on rear fog lamp.

The rear fog lamp on the vehicle must not come on.

8. Simulate failure of the rear fog lamp on the trailer.

The rear fog lamp on the vehicle must light up.

9. Simulate failure of left or right direction indicator lamp.

The flashing frequency of the indicator lamp in the instrument cluster must double.

10. Insert fuse 18 into rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

Use a fuse with 20 A.

11. Check continuous voltage connection (circuit 30) at the 13-pin trailer hitch socket (X58).
12. Remove fuse 18 from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
