The change between full load and partial load operation continues for the entire duration of heater operation as long as there are no changes in the
heat requirement.

5. If the coolant temperature in partial load mode reaches 77 °C, there is no heat requirement. The STH control unit or the STH or HB [ZUH] control

unit (A6n1) triggers the heater run-on period for approx. 160 s for cooling the STH heater unit or the STH or HB [ZUH] heater unit and for
purging the combustion chamber. The STH fuel metering pump or the STH or HB [ZUH] fuel metering pump (Y23) is switched off. At the end of
the heater run-on period the combustion air blower (A6m2) is switched off. The STH heater unit or the STH or HB [ZUH] heater unit then enters a
combustion pause. The circulation pump (A6m1) and the blower motor continue to run and the coolant temperature drops.

Heater operation is continued when the coolant temperature drops below 72 °C during the combustion pause.

The normal end of heater operation, i.e. not triggered by a fault, automatically takes place after expiry of the maximum heating period filed in the STH
control unit (A6n1), except model 220 or the STH or ZUH control unit (A6n1) for model 220.

The STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system can be used to code the heating period for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60 minutes in the STH control unit (A6n1),
except model 220 or the STH or ZUH control unit (A6n1) for model 220.

The stationary heater switch (N72s12) for models 203, 209, 230 or stationary heater switch (S46) for models 215, 220 or the STH radio remote control
transmitter (A8/3) can be used to manually end heater operation during any phase of the heater period irrespective of the triggering mode.

The start of heater operation may be aborted due to a defective glow pin unit flame monitor (A6r4) or due to a lack of flame formation.

During heater operation, overheating, undervoltage or overvoltage, flame-out or a malfunction of the glow pin unit flame monitor (A6r4) or internal
temperature sensing may lead to the premature termination of heater operation.
