Seat Occupant Sensor: Description and Operation
Purpose

The seat occupied recognition prevents the actuation of the front passenger airbag, the sidebag and the emergency tensioning retractor if the front
passenger seat is not occupied.  The child seat recognition prevents the actuation of the front passenger airbag, if child seat is positioned.
