Combination Switch: Description and Operation
Location/Purpose/Design

The combination switch (S4) has various groups of switches for the various functions.

All switch positions are read in by the pushbutton control module (N73) and their status passed to interior CAN as a message. The switch groups are read
in voltage-coded. This means that five wires are enough for all functions.

Left and right flasher switch (S4s1):

The left and right flasher switch (S4s1) has three settings:

Flashers off,

-

Left flasher,

-

Right flasher.

Optical horn switch (S4s2)

As long as the optical horn switch (S4s2) is operated, the relevant contact (S4s2) is closed.

Low beam switch (S4s3)

After the low beam switch (S4s3) has been operated, the relevant contact (S4s3) stays closed for as long as the switch is operated.

Windshield washing unit switch (S4s4):

The windshield washing unit switch (S4s4) has three settings:

Stop,

-

Touch-wipe,

-

Wash.

Wiper switch (S4s5):

The wiper switch (S4s5) has four settings:

-

Windshield wiper off,

-

Interval wiping,

-

Wiper setting 1,

-

Wiper setting 2.
