Component Identification

Function

The shift lever has "stable" and "unstable" positions.

The driver selects the next gear up by tapping the shift lever in the direction indicated by the "+" symbol. A downshift by one gear is initiated by
tapping the shift lever (1) in the direction indicated by the "-" symbol.

The plausibility of the driver's shift request is tested by the automated manual transmission control module (N15/6). When the gearshift has been
executed, the gear currently engaged in the transmission is shown in the display in the instrument cluster (A1).

Note

There is no specific park position as there is in an automatic transmission. Either 1st or reverse is engaged when the vehicle is parked.
