Risk of poisoning due to consuming brake fluid.

Risk of injury due to brake fluid coming into contact with the skin or eyes.

Only pour brake fluid into suitable, appropriately marked containers.
^
Wear protective clothing and safety glasses when handling brake fluid.
Removal

1. First disconnect brake hose (51) on brake pipe (5) and then on fixed caliper (31).

Immediately seal connections with plugs.

The brake fluid reservoir must not empty completely.
2. Disconnect rear brake pad wear pad wear sensor (S10/4) at rear brake pad wear sensor connector.
3. Unscrew right rear brake pad wear sensor connector (S10/4x1)
4. Unscrew micro-encapsulated bolts (35) then remove fixed caliper (31) from wheel carrier.
Installation:
5. Install in reverse order, noting the following.

Replace micro-encapsulated bolts (35), tighten to:
Model 210.072 with Code 957 (E50 AMG): 50 Nm
NOTE:

Install the transparent (temperature-resistant) version of the brake pad wear sensor (S10/4).
^
The wear sensor on the rear fixed caliper is not used anymore on model 202.028 with ASR as of 09/95.

Tighten brake pipe (5) on brake hose (51) to: 18 Nm

Tighten brake hose (51) on fixed caliper (31) to: 18 Nm
