CAUTION:

Installation:  Ensure, that no sealing compound enters into the oil ducts

Do not damage cylinder head gasket.

Replace seals of timing case (19).

-

Replace front crankshaft radial seaing ring.

Install in the reverse order

DANGER:

Risk of accident. Accidents may result if the vehicle starts off unintentionally with the engine running. Risk of injury as working
around the engine during start-up or while running may result in contusions and burns.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Run engine and inspect for leaks

Inspect cooling system for leaks

First of all, warm up engine to operating temperature.

Perform basic programming

All except model 220: Code radio and normalize power window.

Vehicles with stationary heater: adjust time display on stationary heater.

36.1 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase

All except model 220, 230

NOTE:  Stored faults which can result from cables being disconnected or from simulation during removal and installation or test work, have to be
processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work.

36.2 Read out fault memory with STAR DIAGNOSIS and erase if necessary
