Remove/Install Retaining Lock For Crankshaft/Ring Gear

DANGER:

Risk of death, Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform.

-

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points
specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove starter

Insert retaining lock (1)

NOTE:
-

Push retaining lock (1) into starter opening and allow to latch in ring gear; if necessary rotate engine at crankshaft in direction of rotation

-

If automatic transmission fitted, do not counterhold at ring gear (with retaining lock) in order to remove the central bolt! But use
counterholder.

Install in the reverse order.
