Instruments - Clock/Trip Computer Resets After 6 Hours

Clock and/or Trip Computer Resetting

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the clock and/or trip computer resetting after the vehicle has been idle for over six hours,
perform the actions below to correct.

1.

Verify that the vehicle battery is not completely discharged.

2.

Verify that the driver-side SAM contains the events B219400 (supply voltage of circuit 30 is <7.5V) and B219500 (supply voltage of circuit 30 is
<8.5V).

If the two above items are validated, this means that the circuit 30 line has been swapped with the circuit 30g line at the front fuse box (F32) or at
the driver-side SAM (N10/1) which results in the shutting down of circuit 30 instead of circuit 30g. Proceed with steps 3 through 8 to correct.

Access front fuse box (F32) and driver-side SAM (N10/1). Refer to WIS document AR54.21 P-1260CW.

4.

Remove the connector housings for both the white and black connectors shown in Figure 1.

5.

Swap the black with the white and white with the black and then reinstall.

6.

The loose/bent part of the contact blade must be on the same side as the catch rocker as shown in Figure 2.

7.

When installing the contact, make sure that the catch rocker at the front is squeezed tight together as shown in Figure 3.

8.

Latch the coupling housing on both sides by pressing in the plastic lugs shown in Figure 4.
