NOTE: Installation: Ensure that the radial shaft seal (13) is installed in the correct position.

Grease the inner lip of radial shaft seal (13)
NOTE: Apply grease with the finger. Do not use any other aid.

Insert spring washer (15)
NOTE: Insert disk spring (15) with the curvature towards the steering housing (14).

Screw in stud (11)
CAUTION: Removal: The stud (11) must be screwed in for installing the control head (12) in order not to damage the radial shaft seal
(13) and tooth flanks.

Slide in the control head (12) as far as possible

Rotate input shaft clockwise
CAUTION: Turn carefully. Teeth faces can be damaged.
NOTE: Rotate clockwise until the input shaft bearing is located In the guide in the steering housing (14).

Unscrew stud (11)

Screw in screws (10)
NOTE: Screw in in several steps in order to prevent tilting over.

Move the rack into the center position
NOTE: Detach stop plate (8) from both sides of the rack. Use a depth gauge to find the center position. Move both sides up to the stop ring (16)
in the steering housing (14) from the end of the rack so that the dimensions are Identical

Grease the gap between the input shaft and control head (12) (arrow)
NOTE: Apply grease with the finger. Do not use any other aids.

Slide on cap (9)
NOTE: The marking on the cap (9) must align with the marking on the control head (12) (arrow).

Install oil lines (6)
NOTE: Replace all O-rings.

Set play between thrust piece and steering rack

Check rack for easy motion by turning manually.

Install in the reverse order

Measure vehicle electronically, adjust toe-in on front and rear axles.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Check rack-and-pinion steering for proper function.
NOTE:

Rotate steering wheel from stop to stop several times. Check oil level of steering.

Check leak tightness of steering. Check function of steering during low-speed and high-speed cornering.
