Measure gap clearance of piston rings
1. Clean cylinder contact surface.
2. Insert the two compression rings one after the other into the unworn area of the cylinder wall and measure end clearance with feeler gauge; replace
piston rings, if necessary.
The gap clearance of the oil scraper ring cannot be checked because of its three-part design. If the compression rings are replaced, the oil scraper ring
must also be replaced.
