Valve Guide Seal: Removal and Replacement

Component Identification

Detach valve stem seal (86) using pliers (1).

Check surface of valve stems for roughness and ridging.
Replace valves if the stem surface is rough, or if there is ridging.

Fit protective sleeve (2) onto valve stem.
4
Lightly lubricate sealing lip on the valve stem seal (86) with engine oil
5
Press on the valve stem seal (86) with a drift (3).
