Remove instrument panel carrier

Remove accelerator pedal

Fold back floor covering at front left
NOTE: Air duct to left rear compartment (14) must be accessible.

Remove air duct to left rear compartment (14)

Fold back floor covering at right front
NOTE: Air duct to right rear compartment (15) must be accessible.

Remove air duct to right rear compartment (15)

Remove hose clamp (3) from fitting

Hose clamp pliers (length 210 mm; adjustment range 80 mm)

Remove hot water feed hose (4)
CAUTION: Plug opening.

Remove hose clamp (5) from fitting

Remove hot water return hose (6)
CAUTION: Plug opening.

Slightly remove heater housing from firewall
CAUTION: Installation: Moisten seal (11) on heater housing air inlet with soap solution.

Do not oil seal. Ensure that seal (11) on heater housing air inlet is seated properly.

Grease guides (12).

MB long-term grease

Remove cockpit wiring harness (9) from heater housing

Remove heater housing
CAUTION: Remove heater housing with aid of helper. Avoid damaging passenger compartment and heater housing.

Install in the reverse order

Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
20
Synchronize actuator motors.
