Remove the SCM harness from the jacket tube by releasing lock tabs on both sides of the connector (Figure 1). If present, release harness from
retainer (Figure 2). Gently pull the harness out from under the instrument panel to gain access.

The repair harness is color coded to match the car side of the harness. Pins 8 and 12 of the SCM connector are brown wires and cannot be
interchanged. Pins 5 and 11 are both green wires and cannot be interchanged. These wires should be cut and spliced one at a time to ensure that
they are connected correctly.

Cutting Procedure  First Time Repair:

Using a Digital Multi Meter (DMM), locate the brown wire (0.75 BN) connected to terminal 8 of the SCM connector of the repair harness.

Locate the brown wire (0.75 BN) connected to terminal 8 of the SCM connector of the vehicle harness and cut it at the connector.
