SAM Control Unit Diagnosis Procedure

As of DVD 11/2010, diagnosis in the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module
(N10/2) has changed along with the inspection process.

Diagnosis Procedure

1. Perform quick test.

2. Run the test conducted in the quick test in each SAM control unit. 

NOTE:

A fault code or symptom can be used to enter the test.

3. A guided diagnosis is then conducted.

4. If at the end of each test step the SAM control unit is deemed defective, replace the SAM control unit.

Submit control unit log along with the defective control unit through QEC inspection channel. The warranty inspection checks if the diagnosis result
confirms that a replacement of the SAM control unit is justified. If this is not the case, or if the diagnosis printouts are not available, the warranty claim
may be rejected. The same applies to requested parts.
