Driver or Passenger Seatbelt Catches When Pulled Out

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the seatbelt seems to be locked in the fully retracted position, this may be due to the belt
not being fed back correctly.

Note:

See owner's manual "Removing seat belt". If the seat belt is not fed back when the button is released, there is a risk of the belt being retracted by the
return spring so strongly that parts of the interior trim become damaged by the buckle tab further causing a risk of the belt locking in this retracted
position when being pulled out again. Please advise the customer that when taking off the belt, always guide the buckle tab back to the guide point
with his/her hand.

To resolve, pull out belt strap with moderate force approx. 20 millimeters, then allow belt slack to run back in so the locking element returns to the "free"
position. Replacement of retractor or trim for this damage is not covered under warranty.

Note:

To remove belt, press the release button and guide the buckle tab back to the guide point.
