Component Identification

Location

The supplemental restraint system control unit is located on the center tunnel.

Task

The supplemental restraint system control unit is used to ensure passive occupant protection. If an accident occurs, the supplemental restraint system
control unit triggers the deployment of the restraint equipment. This includes airbag units and the emergency tensioning retractor units. The supplemental
restraint systems control unit ensures self-monitoring and fault monitoring. Head-on, rear-end, and side impact collisions are recorded, and a distinction
is made between the different types of collision.
