The head restraints can be retracted by pressing the RHR unlocking switch (S6/1s3) in the upper control panel in the center console. This switch is
connected together with the interior switch (CL) (S6/1s2) to one input on the driver-side signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/1). The
switch status is recognized by voltage code. If one of the switch contacts remain closed for longer than 25 seconds, actuation of the button is ignored.
Actuation of the button is recognized again only after recognition of the non-actuated position.
The SAM (N10/1) transmits a CAN message to the PSE control module (combined) (A37). The PSE control module (A37) releases the pneumatic
actuator for retracting the head restraints by means of vacuum. The head restraints then fold down.

The head restraints can be put back up by hand when required.
