DANGER:

Explosion hazard when performing welding or brazing work on closed air conditioning. Poisoning hazard from inhaling overheated 
refrigerant vapors. Injury hazard from eye or skin contact with liquid refrigerant

Never perform welding or brazing work on the closed air conditioning system or in its vicinity. Smoking and open flame is prohibited.
Wear protective goggles and protective gloves, work only in well ventilated rooms. Perform repair work on air conditioning circuit only if
system is discharged.

CAUTION:  Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture during repair work.

Remove AC housing

Remove heat exchanger

Remove valve strip

Disconnect vacuum lines from vacuum element (44)

Separate blower housing (2) from air distribution housing (1), unclip 2 sliding clips (3) and 4 clips

Unscrew screw (4)

Remove gasket (6)

Remove air distribution housing upper section (18 clips)

Remove evaporator

Clean air distribution housing bottom section
See "A/C compressor" given below.

NOTE:  Installation:  Observe quantity of oil to be added when replacing evaporator

Unscrew screws (5) remove expansion valve (82)

Screw on expansion valve:  8 N.m

CAUTION:  Plug openings (parts kit), replace O-rings (moisten with compressor oil). When installing, ensure that sealing strips are
seated properly.

Replace receiver/drier

Reinstall in opposite order

Switch on air conditioning and allow it to idle for approx. 4 minutes

NOTE:  Set temperature dials to blue or automatic air conditioning to "LO" Blower to max.

Check air conditioning for proper function

NOTE:  Air outlet temperature at center nozzle should not drop below + 5 degrees C , if necessary Perform diagnosis accordingly.

Find leaky point in air conditioning circuit.
