1)

Pretension the parking brake's automatic cable slack adjuster (Figure 1, 92). Refer to WIS document AR42.20-P-0520-01A.

Unhook the left and right parking brake cables (Figure 1, 86) from the automatic cable slack adjusters (Figure 1, 92) and unclip them from the
retaining plate (Figure 1, 84) mounted to the undercarriage.

Replace brackets (Figure 1, 1) along with the rubber grommets (Figure 1, 1a). Aid grommet installation with the use of liquid lubricant (Naphtolen
H) BR00.45-Z-1003-06A.

Note: 

Always replace the brackets (Figure 1, 1) for the left and right parking brake cables (Figure 1, 86). Brackets (Figure 1, 1) that are still attached must
be removed from the rear axle carrier (Figure 1, 2) by repeatedly bending them back and forth until released. If present, remove any sharp/jagged
edges on the rear axle carrier remaining from bracket removal.

4)

Clip the left and right parking brake cables (Figure 1, 86) into the retaining plates (Figure 1, 84) mounted to the undercarriage and hook them back
into the automatic cable slack adjuster (Figure 1, 92).

5)

Slacken the automatic cable slack adjuster (Figure 1, 92). Refer to WIS document AR42.20-P-0520-02A.

6)

On those vehicles that do not have holes pre-drilled on the rear axle carrier (Figure 1, 2) for the brackets, drill holes for the brackets (Figure 1, 1)
in the rear axle carrier (Figure 1, 2) for the parking brake cables (86). Refer to WIS document AR42.20-P-2001-01I.

Install brackets (Figure 1, 1) onto rear axle carrier (Figure 1, 2). Nm BA42.20-P-1006-01A
