Design/function
The exhaust flap valve is actuated with cylinder shutoff ON up to approx. 2500 rpm. It opens and vacuum from the vacuum reservoir is applied to
the diaphragm unit. The flap in the exhaust pipe closes. The remaining annular gap is sufficient for the quantity of exhaust gas from the four
cylinders.
The flap is also open with cylinder shutoff ON at speeds above approx. 2500 rpm.
