Cabin Temperature Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

In-Car Temperature Sensor

The two in-car temperature sensors with aspirator blower serve for measuring the temperature in the vehicle passenger compartment.

The interior temperature is calculated by two in-car air temperature sensors in the AAC pushbutton control module:

Temperature sensor in the AAC pushbutton control module

Temperature sensor in the roof control unit (the measured value is conveyed to the AAC pushbutton control module via the CAN BUS)

The two in-car air temperature sensors are equipped with an aspirator blower which draws in air from the vehicle interior for the temperature
measurement.
With the aspirator blower a continuous circulation of interior air at the in-car air temperature sensors is achieved, therefore guaranteeing a high control
accuracy.

Sensor logic

For control of the AAC at outside temperatures < 10 °C the value of the in-car air temperature sensor (N70b1) is read into the AAC pushbutton control
module (N22) and converted accordingly. At outside temperatures > 10 °C both in-car air temperature sensors (N70b1 and N22b1) are read in with the
mean value of both sensors processed in the AAC pushbutton control module (N22).
