Fault Message In Instrument Cluster "Check Right/Left Low Beam Bulb"

If you receive customer reports in the above models of a warning message of "Check Right or Left Low Beam Bulb" within the instrument cluster's
multifunction display, but the low beam bulb is functioning, and the right and or left front SAM has the following fault codes, perform the following.

Fault code B1630- (Component E2e2 Right Low Beam In Module E2 Right Front Headlamp Unit Is Faulty) is stored in the left front SAM.

Fault code B1630- (Component E1e2 Left Low Beam In Module E1 Left Front Headlamp Unit Is Faulty) is stored in the right front SAM.

Note: 

In isolated cases, tolerances in the ignition voltage may cause the xenon burner not to ignite on the first attempt. The tolerances in the ignition voltage
of the revised xenon bulbs has been optimized.

1.)

Using STAR Diagnosis perform a Short Test" in order to verify that fault code B1630 is stored within left and or right front SAM.

2.)

Remove the affected front Xenon burner (left and or right), and replace with revised part.

Note: 

Use only the part numbers listed below. The new xenon burners are manufactured by Philips. Do not use xenon bulbs manufactured by Osram on
Models 215 and 220.

3.)

Using STAR Diagnosis perform a short test and erase stored fault memory.

4.)

Activate the headlamps and verify operation of the low beams.
