Battery Discharges and Vehicle Can No Longer Be Started

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a discharged battery and the vehicle can no longer be started perform the following:

Note:

Active Body Control (ABC) control unit remains active after locking the vehicle. This can occur when the ABC control unit receives a pulse
after a shutoff delay time of 60 seconds by locking the vehicle.

1.

Switch off engine, close all doors and then immediately lock the vehicle with the infrared remote central locking.

2.

Perform a quiescent current measurement. Refer to WIS document AR54.10-P-1030I.

a.

If the no load current measurement is greater than 50 mA, then perform further procedures as specified within WIS document
AR54.10-P-1030I.

b.

If the no load current measurement is less than 50 mA, then proceed to step 3.

3.

Switch off engine, close all doors and then wait approximately 120 seconds before locking the vehicle with the infrared remote central locking.

4.

Perform a quiescent current measurement. Refer to WIS document AR54.10-P-1030I.

5.

If the quiescent current measurement is approximately 350 mA or greater than, replace the ABC control unit. Refer to WIS document
AR32.22-P-6000I. 

Note:

Before installing the replacement ABC control unit, ensure that the part has a Q9 status or higher. 

6.

Calibrate the ABC suspension plunger sensors according to the guided menus in STAR Diagnosis.

7.

Calibrate the vehicle level. Refer to WIS document AR40.20-P-0301I.

8.

Perform a quiescent current measurement, ensuring that the current level is within specification. Refer to WIS document AR54.10-P-1030I.
