Compressor/Pump Pulsation Damper: Service and Repair

Remove/Install Pulsation Damper

DANGER:

-

Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform

-

Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by
the vehicle manufacturer.

-

Risk of injury to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning from swallowing hydraulic fluid.

-

Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and eye protection.

-

Risk of injury from drilling gas-filled subassemblies or components (gas filling cannot ignite)

-

Wear safety glasses and face mask.

CAUTION:  See notes on installing hydraulic lines and hoses.

NOTE:  See notes on active body control suspension.

1.1 Remove lower engine compartment paneling

Model 215 with engines 113, 137, 275

-

Model 220 with engines 112, 113, 137, 275

1.2 Remove bottom part of noise encapsulation

-

Model 220 with engines 613, 628, 648

Depressurize ABC system by opening bleed screws (56)

CAUTION:  The engine must be switched off for at least 5 minutes.

-

Open the bleed screws (56) carefully so that the hydraulic fluid can drain slowly to prevent the body from dropping too rapidly.

NOTE:  Collect the hydraulic fluid which flows out.

Unscrew pulsation damper (52a) from pressure supply valve unit (52)

Install in the reverse order.

DANGER:
-

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury as working around the engine during startup
or while running may result in contusions and burns

-

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving off by itself.

-

Wear closed and tight-fitting work clothes.

-

Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Fill and bleed ABC system.
