Vehicle Will Not Shut-Off When Using Keyless-Go

If you encounter customer reports in the above models of a condition where the vehicle cannot be shut-off with either the Keyless-Go card or Smart key,
after the vehicle was initially started with the Keyless-Go card, perform the following procedure.

1.

Replace the Electronic Shifter Module. Refer to the following WIS document AR27.60-P-0901R.

Note: 

Ensure that STAR Diagnosis is loaded with at least software version 04/2003 prior to ESM replacement. It is necessary that the ESM be programmed
according to the proper vehicle type.

2.

Using STAR Diagnosis, perform a Short Test and erase all stored diagnostic fault codes.

3.

Verify proper operation of the vehicle using both the Keyless-Go card(s) and Smart key(s).

Note: 

In cases where the battery was disconnected or control module powered fuses were removed, normalization of the vehicle's electrical system will be
necessary. Additionally ensure that all fuses or battery connections are properly secured. Refer to the following WIS documents AR54.10-P-0003R
for model 230, and AR54.10-P-0003I for model 220/215.
